EUROPEAN RESEARCHERS’ NIGHT

Researchers’ Night in ITALY

Italy is the country with the highest number of selected projects (9) to be funded in 2018/2019 by European Commission to support Researchers’ Night activities. Italy will cover a stunning number of 92 cities in this 2-year period!

The theme of one of the project is: Be a citizen scientist (BEES), dedicated to participatory science. It is inspired by the bees and their organization, where the contribution provided by each member is important for the well-being of the entire community. BEES project is also organizing an interactive game to increase the awareness of how the Internet works. Internet 4 Kids will lead us to discover something we use every day and whose existence we now take for granted. This game will also be an opportunity to promote a more responsible use of the Internet and its applications.

The event of the Researchers’ Night is enriched by many events that precede it during the Science Week: from 22 to 29 September, seven days dedicated to hands-on experiments, meetings with researchers, thematic conferences, book presentations, quizzes, scientific aperitifs and much more.

On the following links we invite you to find out more about two other Italian projects SHARPER and MEET ME TONIGHT:

Researchers’ Night in HUNGARY

Did you know that Researchers’ Night takes place every year all over Europe? On this link you can see what our Hungarian friends have planned for you if you happen to pass by.

Laser Show in Slovakia – Researcher’s Night 2017

In Slovakia European Researchers’ Night is organized since 2007. The event is held in five Slovak cities – Bratislava, Banská Bystrica, Žilina, Košice and Poprad and features more than 1,400 researchers from all scientific disciplines and is attended by nearly 155 000 visitors, 72 000 of them young pupils and students. The festival is organized by an experienced consortium: SOVVA (the Slovak Organisation for Research and Development Activities), SAV (the Slovak Academy of Sciences,) EurActiv.sk and CVTI (Slovak National Centre of Scientific and Technical Information).

On the links below you can see how Researcher’s Night looked like last year in Slovakia, including laser show, presentations and other programme:

Researchers’s Night in SLOVENIA

In 2018 and 2019 Researchers’s Night will take place in 20 Slovenian cities with over 170 individual activities covered by three projects: ’’The Night has it might’’, ’’Humanities rock!’’ and ’’SAWE’’. The project ’’The Night has it might’’ started with a promotional campaign with a citizen science project ’’Sowing ox-eye daisies’’ where the same experiment will be conducted across Slovenia which will – hopefully – bloom on 28th of September. Other activities include Scientific festival, House of Experiments, open door day for many institutes all over Slovenia and many more. Further information about the programme can be found on their website: www.nocmoc.si and facebook page: https://goo.gl/HcU5iz
